Vision Stimulation, A ReviewM. P. J. Vervloed Katholieke Universiteit Nijmegen, Purpose The usefulness of vision stimulation is heavily criticised by Ferrell and Muir (1996), because of ambiguous scientific results of effect studies and the negative impact of vision stimulation on the normalisation of children with low vision in society. To study the current state of the art a review is given on the vision stimulation literature, and related topics (e.g., visual efficiency training). Some of the topics that will be dealt with are: - what is vision stimulation? - for whom is it meant and at what age? - what are the goals and assumptions? - what are the results of effect studies?
